DESCRIPTION:

This is the most all-inclusive rock course we offer. Designed for those with some exposure to climbing who are eager to quickly gain the necessary skills and techniques to accelerate into this spectacular sport. Over the five-day course we will cover material from our Intro to Rock Climbing, Top Rope Anchors, Climbing Technique, Sport Climbing, Traditional Lead Climbing, and Multi-Pitch Climbing courses. Each day builds from the previous days material. Your qualified guides/instructors will offer detailed feedback and coaching throughout the course for an unrivaled learning environment.

OVERVIEW: Take your indoor climbing outside

  • Knots and hitches for climbing
  • Belaying: top-rope, lead, and belaying from above (ATC, Grigri, and Reverso)
  • Setting up top rope anchors
  • Lead climbing techniques and safety
  • Sport climbing skills
  • Traditional gear placements, anchor building, gear assessment and removal
  • Multi-pitch skills and techniques
  • Rappelling
  • Intro to self-rescue
  • Retreat options for single pitch and multi-pitch
  • Equipment options

PREREQUISITES: Proficient with belaying, commands, and basic knots.   Consider our other Intro to Outdoor Rock or Anchors Clinic if you feel you need to gain the basics.
